PGPR is a beneficial bacterium for plants that can be used as a bio starter for making fertilizers or can be applied directly to plants. for its application, PGPR with a concentration of 5 ml per liter of water is for seasonal crops such as chili. eggplant, cucumber, etc., just by pouring 1-2 cups of solution into the root area.

  • Half-cooked rice (half-cooked rice as a medium, because of its carbohydrate content as food for microorganisms, so that microorganisms that are around the bamboo roots will invade this rice)

  • Procedure

  • first of all, we will sterilize the tools because all tools and conditions must be in sterile conditions, first cleaned with alcohol then heated with the candle flame. Don't forget to apply alcohol on your hands to keep them clean, then apply the alcohol evenly with a tissue on a spoon and fork, just heated it over a candle flame. be careful, keep the alcohol away from the fire because of the danger of burning.

  • Then the half-cooked rice that has been provided is put in clear plastic. After being inserted, we glue the plastic with a candle flame. Then we flatten the rice so that the microorganisms enter the plastic, then we have to make a hole in the plastic by using a fork on one side of the plastic only. Don't let a hole in the bottom of the plastic. then on the side of the plastic that is not given a hole, we will give a date, to measure the time when it will be ripened in the soil.

  • Under the bamboo plant. We will bury the rice. PGPR or plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria are microorganisms that live around plant roots. One of the plants that have a large source of PGPR, namely bamboo. for plants, the presence of this microorganism is very good because it provides benefits to the physiological process of plants.

  • How to determine the location of rice ripened it is enough to determine the location under the bamboo plant and it is located right between the bamboo roots. The depth is approximately 10-20 cm for the width to adjust to how much rice will be buried. After being buried, wait for one week.

  • The media will be overgrown with various microorganisms. After one week can be transferred to liquid media for further processing. On this occasion, we will continue the process of making PGPR.

  • Media that has been ripened for one week, we will take it and we will process it further. After the rice media is buried or ripened for one week. just take it from the ground by carefully digging the ground. There are various types of microorganisms that have been found. These are marked by the color of the rice.

  • The next process is after taking the media that is planted from bamboo roots. we will carry out the fermentation process. The rice media that has been planted so that the microorganisms in the bamboo roots can move to the rice media, this is proof that the ripened rice is occupied by microorganisms from the color changes in the rice. The rice is initially white after 1 week of age in the ground will be found color changes. Identification of color: white = Rhizopus oligosporus, Yellow/pink = Saccharomyces, Green = Trichoderma.

  • Next, the media will be inserted or will be fermented through these tools. the tools used are a spoon and a jar. The ingredients, namely the solution of brown sugar and water. Then rice media which here is a source of microorganisms.

  • Then the direct process of how to make it, we remove this medium from the plastic. After that, it is put into a jar Next, it will be filled with water and left about a third of the jar.

  • then put brown sugar or brown sugar solution, which is an energy source for microorganisms. Approximately put 3 tablespoons After the jar is closed, it will go through a process called the fermentation process for approximately one week.

  • After that it can be used for various things After this fermented for one week can be directly used as a starter for making fertilizer or applied directly to plants only by applying PGPR with a concentration of 5 milliliters per liter of water by giving 1-2 cups of solution for planting, this can accelerate flowering, fruiting age and the age of the first harvest. and can increase the weight of planted fruit In addition, PGPR can be used as a treatment for seeds and seedlings and can prevent and control wilt disease.
